Loosely based on the memoirs of the famous striptease artist, Gypsy follows Momma Rose, the ultimate stage mother, as she relentlessly pushes her daughters toward stardom in the fading days of vaudeville. When her star daughter elopes, Rose shifts her ambition to her neglected older daughter, inadvertently transforming her into burlesque icon Gypsy Rose Lee
Auditions:

Leading Roles

- Louise / Gypsy Rose Lee: Plays 16 (as an older teen) up to late 20s. Shy, awkward, and overlooked in favor of her sister. She eventually transforms into a sophisticated burlesque headliner.
- Baby Louise: Age 8–12. The young, gangly, and insecure version of Louise who performs second-fiddle to her sister.
Supporting Characters
- June: Plays 15–25. Pretty, perky, and highly talented. She is Rose’s golden child until she rebels, elopes, and leaves the act.
- Baby June: Age 7–11. The sugary-sweet, cute child star who anchors Rose's vaudeville act.
- Herbie: Age 40–60. A former candy salesman-turned-agent who manages the act. He has a heart of gold, acts as a father figure to the girls, and longs for Rose to marry him.
- Tulsa: Age 17–20. One of the male dancers in the act. Charming, ambitious, and dreams of having his own act with "the girl".
The Strippers
- Tessie Tura: Age 30–50s. A veteran burlesque performer with a background in ballet. She teaches Louise the tricks of the burlesque trade.
- Mazeppa: Age 30–55. A tough, experienced stripper whose act heavily features a trumpet.
- Electra: Age 30–55. Another seasoned burlesque performer who performs with an electric lightbulb gimmick.
Minor / Ensemble Characters
- Pop: Age 50+. Mama Rose's gruff, unsupportive father.
